I am looking forward to seeing everyone at Delmore Days. As Mayor of the City of Athens, and a cousin to Billie, Norma, Debbie, and Lionel, I want to welcome you to our fair city for the first Delmore Days. My sons and I will be singing Delmore songs Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., so look us up and we will sing with you all day. God, how I love that Delmore music and the Delmore girls.    mayordan

My father (Glin Christopher) and Uncle Theathus Christopher have been die hard fans of the delmore bros since the 30's when they saw them at Sulfur Wells in the old 23rd in Henry County/Benton Co TN.  The area is now underwater when Ky Lake was formed.  I will be bringing my Uncle to the festival.  My father is gone but my uncle is 89 and have played the music, lick by lick, their entire lives.  I have taken the old recordings of my father and Uncle and made them into a CD because it brings me great joy .  They traveled the state always looking for the Delmore family members or anyone that recalled the music to share their interest.  It is with great and long awaited pleasure that this festival will honor the Delmore Brothers.  Thanks

The music here is great.  I also recommend you enjoy the Limestone County Tourism webpage for June 08 and read the "Glimpse of Delmore Brothers" written by Alton's Daughter Norma.

Oh, what a wonderful and long overdue tribute to two of our own!  Not only did Alton and Rabon leave an outstanding impact on Americana music, they also left the legacy of a fine family.

Many people of Limestone and surrounding counties remember Alton and Rabon, and those who don't certainly need to learn this amazing segment of local history.  This event will teach us much about the Delmore Brothers and their music as well as introduce the younger generations to a story and music they should know.

I'm looking forward to tapping my toes to the music of the lineup of performers, and I'll have my children and grandchildren doing the same.
